Fungu la Mawili

Yes, that's "part two" in Swahili. I actually had my first test in Swahili this week. First test ever at Princeton, I had to sign the honor code and everything. Big deal.

The reading is out of control. 500 pages+ a week. Geesh.

Highlights from the first game. We actually did cooler stuff than this, but these are from my friend's camera. We couldn't do everything we wanted because it was raining and shoes were slippery. But we won!

Orange and Black, Go Go Tigers!

So Cheer is my extracurricular of choice, and I really love it. It takes up a ton of time, but it really is so much fun. I love all the girls on my time, I have fun in practice, and I'm continue to excel at it. Our stunt group is ahead of the others, and my stunt partner and I are working well together. Princeton even invented cheerleading! I'm a part of the oldest cheer squad in history. We even do the first cheer ever, but its not that exciting and the words are weird, so we only do it at homecoming games or reunions. Anyways, the first game is this Saturday against Lehigh. I hope we win, but not by too many points because I have to do push ups for each point.

Anyway, here is the TV schedule, so if you have these channels, you might be able to
catch me on TV.

Recruited

So Princeton is pretty fantastic. Its orientation week, but it feels like orientation month. There are so many required events, so much walking, and so much rain. But I'm adjusting and loving every minute of it.

My backpacking trip was fun, and extremely hard. We hiked about 8-10 miles every day, with some steep inclines, lots of rocks, and a day of rock-climbing. It was cool to meet people, bond, and see some great nature, but I don't think I would do it again. At least not for so long.

My floor is pretty cool, its very Dorm Life. :) My roommate and I get along pretty well, we're very different but we mesh well and have the important things in common.

I'm SUPER excited for my classes. I'm taking Swahili 101, The history of Magic and Witchcraft, International Relations, and the Book of Job and the Problem of Evil. How awesome is that? I can't wait for classes to start Thursday.

The nightlife, or lack thereof, sucks. There is a street (Prospect) on campus that has 10 "eating clubs" which are essentially frats. The clubs aren't open yet, so people just stand outside and drink watered down crappy beer without music or anything. Since I don't drink, and would prefer to dance, this doesn't suit me. But next week they officially open, and Lupe Fiasco and Math Nathanson are doing a concert, so hopefully it will get better.

All the Christian organizations are all over me. I keep on getting e-mails and facebook invites for open houses, and every time I go to them I have the same comversation.

Person I don't know: Trent Fuenmayor, right?
Me: Ya, thats it.
PIDK: I scouted you out on facebook and I saw your extensive background in missions and children's ministries, and I thought "Here is someone who is willing to serve the Lord."
Me: Ya....
PIDK: Would you like to you go get coffee or something this week?

As my friend Mary told me, they recruited me. I'm a varsity Christian.
